SENDS virtual cards are now available in Apple Wallet

LONDON – SENDS, the British digital financial services provider, today announced that its Mastercard virtual debit cards are now available in Apple Wallet, completing its mobile payment strategy across iOS and Android platforms.

The launch marks a significant milestone for SENDS' customer experience, unlocking the full power of Apple Pay for iOS users. With Apple devices representing 52% of the UK smartphone market, this integration extends contactless payment capabilities to SENDS' entire customer base - a feature that was previously limited to browser-based transactions for iOS users, whilst Android customers benefited from full Google Wallet integration.

With Apple Wallet integration, SENDS customers can now use Apple Pay to:

  • Make contactless in-store payments at millions of terminals across the globe
  • Complete purchases within iOS apps that support Apple Pay
  • Pay online securely through Safari and other compatible browsers
  • Access express transit payments on supported transport networks, including Transport for London
  • Use Express Mode for rapid payments without authentication—ideal for frequent commuters and daily transactions

For SENDS' diverse customer base - expats, migrants, freelancers, and internationally-minded professionals - Apple Wallet integration removes friction from everyday payments. The combination of SENDS' multi-currency capabilities and Apple Pay's seamless security creates a genuine advantage for customers managing finances across borders.

The Mastercard partnership demonstrates the importance of trusted payment networks in driving fintech innovation. Whilst new digital banks and payment providers focus on improving user experience, partnerships with networks like Mastercard ensure global reach and acceptance – critical factors for customer adoption and retention.

This foundation enables SENDS to explore future enhancements, including multi-currency wallet support, deeper spending analytics integration, and advanced budgeting tools within Apple Wallet. Early adoption metrics show strong engagement from iOS users within the first days of availability.

The service is available immediately to all SENDS individual account holders at no additional cost. Existing customers can add their virtual cards to Apple Wallet through the SENDS app, while new customers receive instant virtual card access upon account opening.
